A NEW CHAPTER IN EUROPEAN ENERGY TRANSITION: THE EAEST AMSTERDAM SUMMIT BRINGS TOGETHER GLOBAL WISDOM

The conference was conducted through a combination of limited offline invitations and simultaneous online broadcasts, with numerous guests including Professor Saifur Rahman, the 2023 IEEE President and CEO, and Ms. Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, the President of Energie-Nederland being invited. Additionally, relevant leaders from globally renowned energy companies like VDH Solar, European Solar, Orange Solar, Wolong ATB New Energy, FoxEss, and Mehlios by Midea, as well as local leading new energy enterprises, were also invited to attend. The event gathered approximately 50 energy industry elites, R&D experts, policymakers, and scholars from various European countries, attracting over 5,000 online viewers worldwide through live streaming, who came together to discuss the future development path of energy transition.

The summit focused on the critical role of Europe in leading the global energy transition, offering insights and lessons that are invaluable to the rest of the world. Key topics included technological advancements, market trends, and policy frameworks shaping the energy landscape.

The keynote address by Professor Saifur Rahman, titled «Technology Roadmap for Energy Transition Through New Energy and Storage,» was particularly noteworthy. He deeply analyzed the key technical issues of energy transformation and energy storage, and emphasized that energy transformation was not only related to global climate change, but also closely related to energy security. Promoting clean energy and improving energy efficiency are effective solutions to address climate change and energy security.

At the end of the speech, Professor Rahman invited everyone to pay attention to his speech to be delivered at the ESTEC exhibition in October. At that time, he will provide more valuable insights and suggestions for the future development of the energy industry.

Rob van der Gulik, Deputy Secretary-General of EAEST, provided insights into the current state, future development directions, and opportunities, offering crucial reference for the industry’s further development.

Additionally, Kurt, the Director of ESTEC, introduced the upcoming «2024 Netherlands International Energy Storage & Smart Energy Technology Exhibition and Conference (2024 ESTEC)» scheduled for October in Amsterdam. This exhibition aims to foster collaboration and innovation in energy storage technology on a global scale.

Lily, the Secretary-General of EAEST, extended a warm invitation to industry peers and viewers to participate in the upcoming exhibition, highlighting its role in promoting global energy transition and sustainable development.

Additionally after the conference, Gerard Scheper, CEO of European Solar, Hedda Sasburg, CEO of Orange Solar, and Tiantian Li, General Manager of Wolong ATB New Energy, were interviewed as representatives of enterprises. They expected to deepen exchanges and cooperation through the exhibition platform, strengthen trade ties between Europe and the world, share high-quality resources, and jointly promote the process of energy transformation and sustainable development.

As a leader in the global motor industry, Wolong ATB New Energy has accelerated its layout in the energy storage sector in recent years. In October this year, it will be an exhibitor in Amsterdam to showcase the most cutting-edge technology and research and development achievements to the world.

It is worth mentioning that after the conference, Professor Rahman was invited by the ESTEC conference organizing committee to participate in a special seminar on some of the core topics of the ESTEC conference. Professor Rahman provided professional guidance for the topics and made many valuable suggestions, which set the tone for the direction and depth of the conference and ensured the high quality and cutting-edge content of the conference.

The «European Energy Transition Exchange» facilitated robust exchanges of research findings, practical experiences, and technological advancements. It not only advanced Europe’s energy structure but also provided actionable insights for global sustainable development.
