Shenzhen · April 23, 2025 — The European Association of Energy Storage Trade (EAEST) was honored to attend the 2025 TUYA Global Developer Summit, where Deputy Secretary General Rob van der Gulik delivered a keynote speech titled “How Energy Storage is Reshaping the European Electricity Market.”

In his address, Rob explored the fundamental shifts occurring across Europe’s electricity landscape, diving into four key areas.

EAEST is no longer merely an industry organization—it has become the strategic hub of Europe’s energy storage sector. The association is actively shaping the future of the market through its three core functions: Shaping Market Rules, Building Ecosystems, and Driving Market Transformation.

Looking ahead, EAEST will co-host the ESTEC–Solar Solutions Düsseldorf 2025 this December, one of the world’s largest solar energy storage exhibitions. The event is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees, showcase 500 technical innovations, and generate procurement demand exceeding €3 billion.

As Rob emphasized, “The reshaping of the European electricity market is a systemic project of storing, adjusting, and earning.” With a historic convergence of supportive policy, breakthrough technology, and surging demand, Europe’s energy storage sector is entering a trillion-euro blue ocean era.
