Renewable energy company Enlight has commenced commercial operation of its Arad Valley 1 project in Israel, which includes 17MW of solar PV capacity and 31MWh of energy storage. This marks the second solar PV and storage project brought online by Enlight in Israel.
Arad Valley 1 is part of a larger cluster of utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects Enlight is developing in Israel, totaling 248MW of solar PV capacity and 474MWh of energy storage. The full project cluster is expected to be completed in the first half of 2024.
The electricity generated from the project will be sold through Enlight’s integrated power offering in Israel, with plans to sell directly to customers after the market is fully opened in January 2024.
