On September 3, the Power and Energy Storage Battery Industry Innovation Forum was held in Lisbon, Portugal. More than 500 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from the global power and energy storage battery industry participated in the forum online and offline, and conducted in-depth exchanges on deepening industry-academia-research cooperation, overcoming key core technologies, and promoting green and sustainable development of the industry.
In his opening remarks, the Secretary General of the European Association of Energy Storage Trade pointed out that safety and cost are difficulties in extending from power batteries to energy storage. There are over 5,000 grid-scale electrochemical energy storage power stations built globally, and more than 70 fires have occurred so far. How to control the heating during the charging and discharging of large-capacity batteries is a big challenge!
How to reduce costs? Some new ideas also emerged at this forum. Other experts and scholars conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the development of high-capacity lithium secondary batteries, sodium-ion batteries innovation and engineering practice.
