EAEST Participates in Global Energy Storage Conference Plenary at SNEC 2026 Shanghai
Shanghai, 3 June 2026

The European Association of Energy Storage Trade (EAEST) participated in the Global Energy Storage Conference Plenary on the afternoon of 3 June 2026, held at the InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC, Grand Ballroom 1+2, in conjunction with SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai, China.

The plenary session attracted over 150 attendees, drawing senior representatives from across the global energy storage industry, including manufacturers, developers, investors, utilities, and policy stakeholders from both China and Europe. The full house underscored the significance of the session as a forum for high-level, cross-border dialogue on the future direction of the global energy storage sector.

EAEST Representation
EAEST was represented at the plenary by two senior figures from the association:

Rob van der Gulik, Deputy Secretary General of EAEST, served as Session Moderator for the plenary, facilitating structured and substantive discussion among speakers and panellists across a broad range of topics relating to the global energy storage industry.

Nicolas Greant, Expert Committee Member of EAEST, delivered a keynote address entitled:
“Europe’s Energy Maze: Navigating Regulation, Congestion, and Execution Excellence in Energy Storage and Renewable Projects”

The keynote provided attendees with a detailed, practitioner-led analysis of the current European energy landscape, examining the structural challenges facing developers — including grid congestion, evolving medium-voltage requirements, and permitting constraints — alongside practical strategies for the successful deployment of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS). Drawing on Reeload’s extensive project delivery experience across the Benelux region and broader European markets, the address offered a grounded and forward-looking perspective that was well received by the international audience.
